Preventive Health Today represents the work of those with a passion for preventive health and education. My colleagues and I are committed to bringing you this online journal which focuses on the very latest in preventive health research, and on issues vital to your health. It is our hope that you will avail yourself to this educational opportunity and perhaps glean from it some helpful bits of information which may have a positive impact on your health or that of your loved ones.
As the primary spokesperson for
Preventive Health Today, I bring to this endeavor a Master of Public Health degree in Health Education and over 18 years of experience as a health educator for a major health care organization committed to preventive health care and the role of education in helping its members take an active part in keeping themselves healthy.
During my professional career, I have seen a growing interest among people in general, and most strikingly among many health care professionals, to be more actively involved in exploring a wider variety of health care choices, not just in the area of prevention, but for self-care and treatment as well. Having long been an advocate for a more holistic approach to health care and fitness, I am encouraged by the current trend in conventional health care towards a greater level of acceptance of what is now termed complementary and alternative medicine.
Preventive Health Today, in recognizing the sometimes controversial nature of this subject, refers often to the usually conservative and cautious viewpoints and findings of federal agencies, both in the U.S. and abroad. We subscribe to that caution in our efforts to objectively evaluate some of the current trends in preventive and complementary health care.
One of the most significant of these trends, and the focus of this site, is the role of supplemental nutrition in preventive health. Those of us at
Preventive Health Today are very fortunate to be teamed up with a very well respected and trusted company, and global leader in the area of supplemental nutrition, that is focused on preventive and complementary health care and fitness. As a result, there exists a potential to touch and impact the lives of many more people than would be possible in a conventional health care setting.
We encourage you to peruse the information on our site and, in the mean time, if you have any questions or comments, please feel free to
contact us. We would be pleased to hear from you.
